Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a clinically competent Certified Surgical Technologist to support the intraoperative team under the supervision of the RN. The role focuses on delivering safe patient care, preparing the operating suite, and assisting with instruments and patient positioning.

Responsibilities include passing instruments, maintaining instrument counts, handling specimens, and supporting additional projects or administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Physical Demands: lift/carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, medications, solutions, instruments, equipment, implants, and supplies.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Maintains count of instruments and supplies.
• Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
