Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech to support safe, efficient surgical procedures. You will prepare the operating suite, assist with patient positioning, and pass instruments to physicians.

Required: graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program, CST certification within 12 months of hire, and CPR/BLS. We offer competitive benefits and a strong commitment to a patient-first culture.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) within twelve months of hire.
• CPR – Basic Life Support.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, medications, solutions, instruments, equipment, implants, and supplies.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies.
• Receives and processes specimens, if required, for delivery to the laboratory.
