Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Surgical Technician to support the operating room team under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. You will prepare instruments, maintain aseptic technique, assist in patient positioning, and coordinate supplies for procedures.

Candidates should graduate from a Surgical Technology program and hold BLS CPR certification; preferred certification as a Surgical Technician and prior OR experience. Northwestern Medicine offers competitive benefits.

• Graduate of a Surgical Technology program.
• BLS - CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and identifies equipment and supplies for all cases assigned.
• Maintains aseptic technique throughout procedures.
• Assists in positioning and draping of patient.
• Coordinates use of supplies and equipment for intraoperative care with other staff.
• Maintains readiness for emergencies and the need to assist the surgeon until additional help can be obtained.
