Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a clinically competent Certified Surgical Technologist to work under the supervision of the RN, providing safe intraoperative care. You will interact with the patient and health care team while adhering to department standards.

The role may support additional projects, perform administrative tasks, and other duties as assigned. Responsibilities include preparing the operating suite, assisting with patient positioning and draping, passing instruments, and tracking

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program is required.
• Physical Demands: lift/carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating suite with drapes, medications, solutions, instruments, equipment, implants, and supplies and ensures availability and functionality of equipment.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Passes instruments to the physician during surgery and continually accounts for instruments and supplies.
• Receives and processes specimens, if required, for delivery to the laboratory.
