Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking an Intra-Op Nurse (RN) for the Hiawatha Outpatient Surgical Center. This PRN day-shift role supports patient-centered care, collaborates with the OR team, and ensures safe, accurate perioperative nursing care.

You will document actions in real time, communicate with patients and families, and uphold Mercy's safety protocols. Required Iowa RN license and BLS, with CNOR/CAPA preferred; prior perioperative experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Iowa or a compact state.
• BLS certification required; CNOR/CAPA preferred.
• Prior OR/surgical center experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with patients and families and care team during handoffs.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care per plan.
• Document nursing care accurately and in real time.
• Supervise other staff as assigned and ensure patient safety.
• Maintain sterile technique and assist in pre-op, recovery, and sterile areas.
