Job summary

Banner University Medical Center Phoenix is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform prescribed radiographic procedures in the OR and surgical settings, following ARRT guidelines and ALARA principles. Day-to-day tasks include preparing the imaging cart, imaging with Hybrid OR and C‑Arm equipment, and ensuring high‑quality images with proper documentation.

The ideal candidate holds ARRT certification, BLS, and a Radiologic Technology certificate/diploma, with 1–2 years of experience

Qualifications

  • Certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • ARRT certification and state licensure if applicable.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Two years of related clinical experience preferred.
  • Effective communication, human relations, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares for surgical procedures by setting up the imaging cart, checking laterality, uploading patient information, ensuring equipment functions, and communicating with the OR team regarding special imaging needs.
  • Educates patients/families regarding procedure and or treatment to be performed.
  • Performs prescribed radiographic procedures in accordance with department policies and ARRT guidelines, employing aseptic technique and universal precautions.
  • Performs imaging exams with specialty equipment such as Hybrid OR, O‑Arm, C‑Arm, Mini C‑Arm (peds, ortho), Flat plates, and cleans fixed or mobile C‑Arm after each case following infection prevention standards.
  • Produces high‑quality images and prepares/presents them with relevant patient information for timely interpretation; maintains accurate documentation.
  • Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements, troubleshoots, and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance; communicates equipment issues to the surgical team to minimize impact.
  • Maintains a safe environment by adhering to radiation safety policies, holds all personnel in the OR suite to the same policies, educates physicians and trainees about dosimetry and radiation safety; reports risks to the Radiation Safety Officer.
  • Assumes ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to radiology practice, including confidentiality.
  • Provides educational and onboarding support for new intra‑operative technologists.
