Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown is seeking an Intraoperative Monitoring (IOM) Technologist in training. You will complete on-the-job training in didactic and clinical components and perform IOM procedures under supervision, with the goal of becoming competent across monitoring modalities.

You will prepare equipment, apply electrodes, acquire data, and communicate results to the intraoperative team. Collaboration with surgeons, neurologists, and anesthesia is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience or related health science field.
• Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Works under direct supervision during all IOM procedures until competency is achieved.
• Reviews planned intraoperative procedures to determine monitoring needs.
• Prepares equipment and supplies for cases per monitoring modality requested.
• Communicates effectively with intraoperative team to maximize monitoring results.
• Sets up monitoring equipment ensuring patient electrical safety.
• Applies electrodes and completes testing setup per policy.
