Job summary

Kardex AutoStore is seeking a motivated Solution Design Engineer to design standalone or integrated intralogistics solutions centred around AutoStore. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering, Mechatronics or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in solution design, systems engineering, consulting or pre-sales within intralogistics/warehouse automation.
• Demonstrated experience designing automated warehouse or material-handling solutions.
• Strong understanding of material flow, logistics, warehouse processes, throughput and capacity calculations.
• Entrepreneurial thinking and acting.
• Self-driven, result oriented with positive outlook to success.
• Proven portfolio of completed projects.
• Advanced trouble-shooting skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Clear focus on high quality and ensuring all the customers’ needs are met.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple stakeholders across different disciplines and locations.
• Willingness to intercontinental travel.

Responsibilities

• Support the sales phase from acquisition until contract.
• Conduct customer workshops and site visits to understand operational processes, logistics requirements, constraints and future growth requirements.
• Analysis of customer data to evaluate performance, trends and future requirements and define the design criteria.
• Develop standalone or integrated intralogistics concepts incorporating AutoStore and complementary automation technologies whenever applicable e.g. robotics, conveyors, packaging machines, AMR, etc.
• Develop layouts, process flows, equipment specifications and solution descriptions for customer proposals.
• Discuss with customer and work with internal software team to define high-level WMS/WCS/WES and AutoStore integration requirements.
• Prepare and present solution, technical proposals and design rationale to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Constant customer communication, maintaining a strong client relationship.
• Coordinate with internal teams, AutoStore, equipment suppliers and external partners to develop technically and commercially viable solutions.
• Contribute to the development of standard solutions, design methodologies, calculation tools and best practices across the APAC region.
• Support projects in other locations in the APAC region if needed.
