Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Special Procedure Technologist to assist the nursing and physician team in coordinating daily interventional radiology procedures. This role supports preparation, performance and completion of exams, while maintaining patient comfort and safety.

The position is day shift, 40 hours per week, requiring active ARRT and NJ DEP licenses, and BLS certification; prior interventional radiology experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active, valid ARRT and NJ DEP license.
• BLS certification through AHA is required.
• Minimum of 2 years radiology experience preferred.
• Procedural Interventional Radiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in coordination of the daily work schedule and preparation of the rooms for the day.
• Collaborates with physician for proper orders, x-ray requisitions and lab results.
• Responsible for proper technical exposure factors with digital and conventional equipment to minimize radiation exposure.
• Programming of digital computer, Schonander film stand and contrast injectors.
• Responsible for radiation safety and protection, coordination of continuing education.
