Job summary

Qualifications

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Interventional Radiologist and Imaging Leadership, the IR Technologist is responsible for the overall clinical operational execution of the IR service. IR technologists assist in a variety of specialty and complex interventional and diagnostic procedures with proficiency. They order and maintain supplies for the IR service, operate radiologic equipment, and set exposure parameters during interventional and diagnostic procedures according to state and federal radiation safety regulations following ALARA principles. They maintain knowledge of, observe, and enforce the safety measures in the Environment of Care.

Responsibilities

• Assist in specialty and complex interventional and diagnostic procedures.
• Order and maintain supplies for the IR service.
• Operate radiologic equipment and set exposure parameters during procedures.
• Follow state and federal radiation safety regulations and ALARA principles.
• Maintain knowledge of and enforce safety measures in the Environment of Care.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; program graduate of a formal accredited program in Radiologic Technology required; college degree in 2‑year radiology program required; college degree in 4‑year program preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications: BLS Basic Life Support – AHA required within 30 days of hire; CRT California Radiologic Technologist License required; RT‑R Rad Tech Radiography – ARRT required; RHF Rad Tech Fluoroscopy License required.
• Work Experience: Minimum six months radiology experience preferred; pediatric experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Bilingual skills preferred.
• Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation Range: $47.82 - $69.50
