Job summary

IU Health is seeking a diagnostic radiology technologist graduate or recent graduate to join our team in Indiana. The role includes supporting radiologists during interventional procedures, maintaining sterile fields, and ensuring strict safety and radiation protocols are followed.

4 nine-hour shifts on weekdays with on-call one night per week and every 4th weekend, plus an on-call holiday rotation; on-site teamwork across departments with a patient-centered approach. Recent grads welcomed.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of radiology experience.
• Current ARRT RT(R) credential.
• ISDH Radiologic Technologist license in Indiana.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assist radiologists/interventionalists in procedures and act as scrub tech when needed.
• Set up sterile field and prepare supplies for procedures.
• Document information in EMR and adhere to safety protocols.
• Follow radiation safety protocols and monitor patient dose levels.

Job description

Overview

Are you an upcoming diagnostic radiology technologist graduate or recent graduate? This pipeline allows the IU Health Talent Acquisition team to connect upcoming and recent diagnostic radiology technologist graduates with opportunities that best align with their unique skills and interests. Thank you for your interest in joining the team!

Schedule is four 9 hour day shifts between M - F on call 1 night per week and every 4th weekend with an on-call holiday rotation.

Assists radiologist/interventionalist in interventional procedures including acting as scrub tech where appropriate. Adheres to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Follows radiation safety protocols and is aware of patient dose alert levels and escalation procedure. Understands and has knowledge of complex procedures. Demonstrates ability to determine appropriate supplies for procedure and sets up sterile field. Possesses advanced knowledge of cross sectional and vascular anatomy. Communicates and work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team (critical care, ED, Trauma, IP, OP, Nursing, Oncology, Transplant, GI, Neurosurgery, etc). Documents necessary information in EMR.

• Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
• Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
• Requires knowledge of sterile technique and supplies used during interventional exams.
• Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• May be required to obtain advanced credential in interventional radiography, if applicable.
• Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist.
• Experience as a radiologic technologist, preferred.
