Job summary

Indiana University Health Arnett is seeking a Diagnostic Radiology Technologist for an outpatient position. You will rotate across Orthopedics and Urgent Care imaging, with a schedule designed to accommodate diverse patient flow.

No night shifts or on-call requirements; only one holiday every other year and every sixth weekend. As a team member, you will operate X-ray, fluoroscopy, portable X-ray and surgical imaging equipment, explain exams to patients, position them correctly, and follow

Qualifications

  • 0–3 years of relevant radiology experience.
  • BLS certification required by AHA.

This is an Outpatient position with IU Health Arnett

You will be working a rotational schedule to accommodate Ortho and Urgent Care patients, along with any walk in patients. Only 1 holiday every other year and every 6th weekend is required. No nights or call involved.

Job Description

Operates imaging equipment such as x-ray, fluoro, portable x-ray, and fluoroscopy equipment used in surgery. Prepares patients by explaining exam and positioning them correctly. Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure accurate imaging. Follows radiation safety protocols. Documents detailed patient history. Stays current with continuing education. Monitors patients during exam for safety. Documents necessary information in EMR. Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed.

  • Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
  • Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or a recent graduate of an approved training program in Radiologic Technology (board eligible). If board eligible, must obtain credential in Radiography within 6 months of hire.
  • Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or a current ISDH Radiology Student Permit.
