RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Special Procedures Technologist at RWJUH Rahway Hospital. You will perform complex angiographic and interventional radiology procedures with independence, ensuring patient safety and adherence to imaging standards.

Role involves positioning, equipment operation, sterile technique, coordination with radiologists, and maintaining workflow in the imaging department. Must have NJXT license and 2+ years of X-ray experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology or equivalent accredited imaging program.
• Demonstrates problem-solving, critical thinking, decisive judgment and collaboration with minimal supervision.
• Minimum of 2 years of prior X-ray imaging experience.
• Active New Jersey Certified X-Ray Technologist (NJCXT) license or current active status.
• ARRT in Radiography; ARRT (R) certification is preferred.
• CPR-BLS certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Prepares patients for procedures, explains process and positions patients for rapid sequence filming during contrast media administration.
• Operates imaging equipment to perform exams following protocols and ensures order matches protocol.
• Assists radiologists during interventional procedures by scrubbing in and handling supplies.
• Sets up sterile fields and interventional trays; follows aseptic technique.
• Calibrates and maintains imaging tools; reports equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Monitors and records fluoroscopy/x-ray images with radiation safety measures.
• Documents exams in EMR/PACS and follows guidelines for troubleshooting or submission.
• Manages procedural inventories and sustains stock levels; coordinates reordering.
• Collaborates in a fast-paced environment, assists with patient transport and maintains professional communication.
