Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair, NJ is seeking a rotating shift, PRN Radiology Special Procedures Technician. You will assist the physician during interventional radiology procedures and support the team in complex cases.

The role requires 2+ years in Radiology, plus NJ Radiology license and ARRT certification. BLS within 14 days of hire is required. Interventional or Cath lab experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program.
• NJ Diagnostic Radiology License required.
• ARRT Certification required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.
• 2+ years’ experience in Radiology; Interventional or Cath lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists the physician during interventional radiology procedures.
• Provides assistance to physicians, other radiology technologists, and RNs in complex procedures.
• Coordinates daily activities within the Interventional Radiology Department.
• Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures per approved technique and ALARA limits.
• Positions the patient and sets up/adjusts equipment for optimal views.
• Works independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Explains procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and gain cooperation.
• Performs interventional procedures under Radiologist or Vascular Surgeon direction.
• Prepares and maintains a sterile environment using aseptic techniques and equipment.
• Practices radiation safety and protection principles.
• Demonstrates use of RIS, PACS, and other hospital computer systems.
• Manages time and patient flow, room use, and supplies to improve department efficiency.
