Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Nurse Educator for Interventional Radiology to lead education initiatives and staff development. The role emphasizes quality, safety, and evidence-based practice within a patient-first culture across the NM system.

The incumbent will develop and implement educational opportunities, support staff in achieving specialty certifications, and collaborate with inter-professional teams to improve clinical practice and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
• Master's in Science in Nursing or to obtain within 4 years required.
• Registered Nursing license in Illinois required.
• Certification in related clinical area or to obtain when eligible.
• 3-5 years’ experience in a related clinical area required.
• BLS through American Heart Association required.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements education opportunities for staff identified through needs assessments, departmental and system goals and new/expanded clinical programs.
• Supports staff to seek/maintain specialty certification including monitoring progress and completion.
• Participates in review of unit/division dashboard through LDOC and assesses opportunities to improve quality and practice areas.
• Monitors quality report data with operational manager for clinical quality/safety issues and develops action plans.
• Leads/inter-professional teams for unit/division based and house-wide clinical process improvement.
• Plans, evaluates division specific learning activities to improve safety.
• Provides input into staff evaluations related to clinical competence.
• Participates in staff RN peer review process.
• Mentors in evidence-based practice projects and nursing research.
