Job summary
Albany Medical Center is seeking an Interventional Pulmonologist to join the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. The role includes providing comprehensive care for complex airway disorders and performing advanced bronchoscopy, including EBUS, navigational, robotic, and airway stenting.
The candidate will participate in education, research, and quality improvement within an academic medical center.
Qualifications
- Interventional Pulmonary Fellowship trained and AABIP board certified or eligible.
- MD or DO degree.
- Experience with advanced bronchoscopy procedures.
- Interest in an academic medical center environment including education, research, and quality improvement.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive clinical care to patients with complex pulmonary and airway disorders.
- Perform advanced bronchoscopy procedures including EBUS, navigational bronchoscopy, robotic bronchoscopy, rigid bronchoscopy, airway stenting, tumor debulking and ablation, and management of central airway obstruction.
- Evaluate and manage patients with complex pleural disease and perform thoracentesis, chest tube placement, indwelling pleural catheter placement, and medical thoracoscopy as appropriate.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and pathologists.
- Educate and mentor residents, fellows, medical students, and advanced practice providers.
