Job summary

Albany Medical College in New York is seeking an Interventional Pulmonologist to join its Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. The role includes outpatient and inpatient duties, advanced bronchoscopy, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Interventional Pulmonary Fellowship trained and AABIP board certified or eligible.
• Experience with EBUS, navigational bronchoscopy, rigid bronchoscopy, airway stenting.
• Interest in an academic medical center environment including education, research, and/or quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical care to patients with complex pulmonary and airway disorders.
• Perform advanced diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy procedures including EBUS, navigational bronchoscopy, robotic bronchoscopy, rigid bronchoscopy, airway stenting, tumor debulking and ablation, and management of central airway obstruction.
• Evaluate and manage patients with complex pleural disease including pleural effusions and pneumothorax and perform pleural procedures as appropriate.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, oncologists, radiologists and pathologists.
• Educate and mentor residents, fellows, medical students, and advanced practice providers.
