Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Cardiovascular Technologist to perform interventional diagnostic and therapeutic examinations of the heart and vessels, under physician guidance.

You will operate advanced radiologic equipment, prepare patients, and contribute data for interpretation, while maintaining safety standards and following latest protocols in a collaborative Cath Lab team.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology and 1-3 years of related work experience.
• Graduation from an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology with related experience or education demonstrating ability to perform duties.
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire.
• Medical Radiographer license: WA, upon hire.
• Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Certification: WA, upon hire.
• Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares equipment/room to capture appropriate image, per physicians’ direction and in adherence to department protocols.
• Delivers patient care for all age groups during exams/procedures and assists with patient transfers.
• Monitors patient’s blood pressure and heart rate; informs physician of significant changes; uses devices to ensure accurate results.
• Assists physician during procedures with sterile technique and follows policies/regulations; maintains required records.
• Prepares cases for interpretation and maintains accurate patient records in EMR, hemodynamic system, and RIS; handles routine office duties.
• Leads routine Cardiovascular Lab & Interventional Radiology functions; may train new staff; assists with scheduling, inventory, and quality/ productivity oversight.
