Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; graduate of Accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
• California Radiologic Technologist Certificate.
• Fluoroscopy Certificate (California).
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• 16-week cardiopulmonary technology training completed by hire.
• For dedicated lab: proficiency in Cardiac Cath and PCI within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures.
• Assists physicians in fluoroscopic and special x-ray exams.
• Records, stores, and analyzes data from interventional procedures.
• Monitors ECG/pressures; communicates with physician; maintains aseptic technique.
• Operates and maintains IABP equipment; provides imaging during procedures.
• Precept or train new staff; participates in QA and continuous training.
• On-call standby coverage for emergent procedures; reports for duty.
• Performs routine hemodynamic monitoring and radiation safety tasks.
