Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina seeks a Cardiovascular Technologist II to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease in an invasive lab. The role supports staff and performs scrub duties for left/right heart catheterizations and peripheral procedures.

Required are a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, at least 1 year of invasive cardiovascular tech or radiology experience, and RCIS/RCES/CEPS/RT(R)CI certification within 2 years of hire, plus BLS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year clinical experience in invasive cardiovascular technology or radiology.
• Certification in RCIS, RCES, CEPS, or RT(R)CI within 2 years of hire; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Performs scrub duties for cardiac interventions with no assistance.
• Performs scrub duties for peripheral Diagnostics or interventions with minimal assistance.
• Scrub, gown, glove and set up back table with necessary equipment.
• Records cardiac interventions and hemodynamics; log events in MacLab.
• Maintains ECG setup and rhythm monitoring.
• Maintains basic hemodynamic setup and waveform monitoring.
• Prepares room with staff for safe, effective patient care.
• Performs safety equipment checks and ensures adequate supplies.
• Transports patients alone or with staff as needed.
