The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Cardiovascular Technologist II to support physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease within an invasive procedure setting, focusing on diagnostic catheterization and interventional procedures.

This role serves as a resource to staff and helps ensure high-quality patient care through precise scrub duties, hemodynamic recording, ECG monitoring, and vigilant safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Performs scrub duties and related procedures for cardiac interventions, left heart catheterization and right and left heart catheterization with no assistance.
• Performs scrub duties and related procedures for peripheral diagnostics or interventions with minimal assistance.
• Ability to scrub, gown, glove and set up back table with necessary equipment.
• Records cardiac interventions, left heart catheterization and left and right heart catheterization hemodynamics with accuracy. Monitors procedure, and documents inventory used and order of events appropriately in MacLab(tm) event log.
• Maintains ECG set up and rhythm monitoring.
• Maintains basic hemodynamic set up and waveform monitoring.
• Assists in preparation of room with fellow staff members for safe, effective care of patient.
• Performs required checks on all safety equipment.
• Ensures adequate supplies present to perform procedures.
• Transports patients alone or accompanied by a fellow staff member.
