• Assist in establishing department and grade-level curriculum objectives.

• Communicate objectives clearly for lessons, units, and projects.
• Use appropriate instructional methods and materials to meet objectives.
• Assess student progress and provide timely reports.
• Diagnose learning strengths and weaknesses and seek district specialist input.
• Counsel with colleagues, students, and parents regularly.
• Enforce school policies and classroom rules to maintain order.
• Supervise assignments for support staff and volunteers within the department.
• Integrate technology into teaching and the learning process.
• Maintain accurate records and reports as required by policy and law.
• Adhere to ethics codes and district policies in professional conduct.
• Support school improvement initiatives by participating in activities and programs.
• Recognize signs of student distress or abuse and act according to procedures and law.
• Establish testing environments and ensure test security.
