Job summary

The School District of Lee County in Fort Myers, FL seeks an Instructional Support staff member to assist with instructional activities under supervision. Responsibilities include supporting students individually or in small groups, preparing instructional aids, and aiding teachers in classroom management and lesson delivery.

Minimum qualifications require a high school diploma or equivalent with ParaPro, or 60 credit hours/Associate’s degree.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent and pass ParaPro exam.
• Option: 60 credit hours or an Associate’s degree.
• Relevant work experience may substitute minimum qualifications.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA and student privacy policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instructional process with students individually or in small groups.
• Prepare, organize and use instructional aids and technology as directed.
• Support teacher in reinforcing positive learning and behavior.
• Help students develop study skills and meet instructional objectives.
• Support parental involvement activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
