Job summary

The School District of Lee County is seeking an Instructional Support (ESE) paraeducator to assist in classrooms in Fort Myers, Florida. You will work under supervision to support instructional staff and help students with learning activities and behavior management.

Responsibilities include preparing instructional materials, maintaining confidentiality, translating when able, and supporting IEP goals, in a school environment with a focus on inclusivity and student privacy.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with ParaPro exam.
• Alternatively, 60 credit hours or an Associate's degree.
• Preferred: Associate’s degree and 1 year related experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructional process for students individually or in small groups.
• Prepare instructional aids, materials, and technology as directed.
• Reinforce positive learning and behavior with students.
• Assist students in developing study skills and achieving objectives.
• Support parental involvement activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Perform related clerical and recordkeeping duties as directed.
• Adhere to safety procedures.
• Provide support in computer labs, libraries, and other learning facilities.
• Assist in implementation of a student’s IEP.
• Translate if able and appropriate.
• Monitor student behavior in cafeteria and campus locations.
• Perform Medicaid administrative claims as directed per SDAC Guide.
