Job summary

The Mind and Microbiome Lab at UC Irvine seeks a Junior, Assistant, or Associate Specialist to coordinate human intervention research. The role centers on building the infrastructure to launch a microbiome intervention study, including IRB workflow, materials, staff training, and sample coordination. Familiarity with microbiome methods is valued but not required.

Under PI Desiree R. Delgadillo, you will support study development, regulatory activities, participant recruitment, training, and labs

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in psychology, public health, nutrition, biological sciences, health sciences, or related field, or equivalent research experience.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating and conducting human subjects intervention research.
• Experience with IRB submissions and regulatory activities.
• Experience with participant recruitment, screening, scheduling, retention, and tracking.
• Proficiency with REDCap and/or Qualtrics.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in research operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation and evaluation of behavioral and dietary intervention studies.
• Prepare IRB submissions, regulatory documentation, and ongoing study compliance.
• Coordinate day-to-day study operations and participant recruitment workflows.
• Train and coordinate research assistants in procedures and data collection.
• Develop study databases, participant tracking, and data management workflows.
• Support data analysis, manuscript preparation, and grant-related materials.
• Maintain quality assurance and contribute to infrastructure improvements.
