Qualifications

• Seven years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in a related area.
• Advanced knowledge of specialized laboratory equipment and maintenance.
• Experience with purchasing, contracts, and record keeping.
• Leadership to plan work, prioritize and schedule spaces.
• Strong interpersonal skills to manage diverse teams.
• Ability to design and report scientific experiments.
• Knowledge of lab safety, CLIA and CAP guidelines; audits a plus.
• Budget planning experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development and management of large collaborative studies.
• Prepare budgets, SOPs, and regulatory documents.
• Coordinate activities among research groups, sponsors, and vendors.
• Supervise UCSD EXCITE Laboratory and ensure CLIA/CAP compliance.
• Train staff and manage inventory and equipment.
• Contribute to manuscript preparation and data interpretation.
• Support Core tasks and field-based operations.
