UC Irvine's Mind and Microbiome Lab seeks a Junior, Assistant, or Associate Specialist to coordinate human intervention research. The role focuses on study coordination, building infrastructure to launch and sustain a microbiome intervention study, with emphasis on protocol refinement, IRB submissions, materials, and staff training.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in psychology, public health, nutrition, biological sciences, health sciences, or related field, or equivalent research experience.
• Experience coordinating human subjects intervention research.
• Experience with IRB submissions and regulatory activities.
• Experience with participant recruitment, scheduling, retention, and/or tracking.
• Proficiency with REDCap and Qualtrics.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and evaluation of behavioral and dietary intervention studies; refine protocols for IRB review.
• Create SOPs, training manuals, participant materials, and QA procedures under PI guidance.
• Manage IRB submissions, regulatory documentation, and ongoing compliance.
• Coordinate day-to-day study operations and ensure procedures follow approved protocols.
• Develop systems for participant recruitment, screening, scheduling, retention, and tracking.
• Maintain study databases and data management workflows; support staff training.
