Qualifications

• Valid Ohio Teaching Certificate/License required for appropriate subject area or grades.
• Substitute certification is not accepted.
• Demonstrates flexibility and commitment to student learning.

Responsibilities

• Implement IEP objectives through classroom activities and small/large group lessons.
• Develop behavior management plans for students as needed.
• Plan schedules and lessons aligned with IEP goals.
• Communicate progress to parents and school personnel per policy.
• Conduct evaluations of student levels and needs using formal/informal methods.
• Collaborate with parents, caseworkers, and others involved in student programs.
• Design goals and objectives for student IEPs based on evaluations and input.
• Adjust IEPs as progress is documented or goals change.
• Work with disciplinary teams to develop programming and evaluation.
• Lead IEP parent conferences as necessary for participation in special ed.
• Provide direction and training to aides/volunteers in the classroom.
