Job summary

ACCEL Schools in Columbus, Ohio is seeking a qualified Intervention Specialist for North Columbus Preparatory Academy. The role focuses on supporting students with an IEP, promoting academically rigorous and socially-emotional development in a caring classroom environment.

You will collaborate with teachers, conduct assessments, write behavior plans, lead IEP meetings, and communicate regularly with families. Experience with inclusion or resource room/co-teaching models is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience with inclusion or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to interpret abilities and disabilities and modify curricula.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Lead IEP meetings and write IEP goals and objectives.
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress.
• Plan and implement non-instructional activities and events.
