Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking an Intervention Specialist in Canton, OH to support students with IEP goals within inclusive/co-teaching settings. You will participate in diagnostic and behavioral assessments, develop IEP goals, and collaborate with teachers to tailor instruction for diverse learners.

The role emphasizes data-driven planning, regular family communications, and involvement in non-instructional activities to promote student growth and culture.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in full room inclusion or Co-Teaching.
• Growth-focused coaching with frequent observations and progress monitoring.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word/Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with classroom teachers to interpret abilities and disabilities and modify curricula.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write goals/objectives.
• Strive to meet student achievement and culture goals.
• Apply research-based planning and instruction in daily lessons.
• Incorporate culturally responsive teaching in daily interactions.
• Serve as advisor to a set of students.
• Regularly communicate with families about student growth.
• Plan and participate in non-instructional activities and field trips.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
