ACCEL Schools LLC seeks an Intervention Specialist at North Columbus Preparatory Academy in Columbus, Ohio to support students with IEP goals and foster a rigorous, nurturing classroom environment emphasizing learning and social-emotional development.

The role collaborates with teachers to modify curricula, conducts assessments, writes behavior plans, and leads IEP meetings while engaging families and ensuring student achievement and culture goals.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in inclusion or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model.
• Comfort with growth-focused coaching through observations and planning.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks.
• Experience in a multi-cultural setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support educational and behavioral goals for all students, with focus on IEPs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, adapt curriculum, and support interventions.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction and functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans and IEP goals.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and communicate student progress to families.
• Engage in planning and implementation of non-instructional activities.
