Job summary

Akron Public Schools is seeking an Intervention Specialist Paraprofessional for Buchtel CLC SAIL. The position supports students with special needs, assists the classroom teacher, and helps implement therapy plans while maintaining student safety in and around the building.

Responsibilities include supervising students in various settings, preparing instructional materials, collecting progress data, and supporting with transportation and daily routines.

Responsibilities

• Provides supervision and assistance to students under teacher direction
• Assists in implementing therapy plans (PT/OT/SLH) as directed by staff
• Supports during lunch, recess, and transportation, ensuring student safety
• Prepares instructional materials and assists with data collection
• Assists students with classroom technology and learning activities
• Escorts students, monitors behavior, and maintains orderly classroom environment
• Participates in field trips, drills, and school activities as required
• Keeps student records and progress notes as directed by the teacher
• Assists with setup of work centers and instructional activities
• Performs related tasks as assigned by teachers or administrators
