Job summary

Hoquiam School District No. 28 is seeking a Paraeducator in Special Education: Resource Room to support students’ academic and behavioral growth.

The role partners with certified staff to deliver instruction, implement behavior plans, and foster inclusive, safe learning environments. The position emphasizes meaningful relationships, adaptive pathways, and community engagement, with daily 8:00 AM–3:00 PM hours and a start date in late October.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Two years of college coursework or higher, or approved academic assessment.
• Ability to assist in instruction and support student needs.
• Physically capable of assisting with mobility and safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support in reading, writing, and math.
• Assist in implementing individualized instruction and behavior plans.
• Support students with adaptive PE and mobility needs.
• Maintain classroom safety and organization; participate in trainings and staff meetings.
• Score and administer selected student assessments; document progress.
