Job summary

UC Santa Cruz seeks a CARE Prevention Education Coordinator to lead interpersonal violence prevention efforts across the campus. You will develop peer education programs, supervise peer educators, and provide crisis counseling and referrals to survivors.

You will work with the CARE team and campus partners to evaluate programs, conduct outreach, and support events like Take Back the Night and Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This 11-month appointment includes comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in health education/public health/social work/counseling.
• Experience developing, implementing, and assessing educational programs for adults.
• Excellent public speaking and facilitation skills.
• Training in teaching topics of sexual violence prevention and intervention.
• Understanding of issues affecting college students.
• Experience with health promotion or violence prevention programs for students.

Responsibilities

• Designs, implements, and assesses educational programs preventing sexual violence.
• Facilitates engaging content on prevention strategies for students, staff, and faculty.
• Presents inclusive prevention strategies to at-risk groups and coordinates orientation programming.
• Trains and supervises students and peer educators for prevention workshops.
• Provides crisis counseling, referrals, and information to survivors as needed.
• Collaborates with campus partners to strengthen prevention resources and policy guidance.
• Develops systems to measure program effectiveness and supports annual initiatives.
