Job summary

Willis Automotive in Des Moines, IA is seeking an Internet Sales Specialist to manage inquiries, respond quickly via email, phone and chat, and convert interest into appointments. You will maintain product knowledge and coordinate with the sales team to promote the dealership—serving our community with integrity.

The role requires strong communication, self-motivation, and teamwork, with opportunities for training to certify in multiple car lines and grow within a family-owned business.

Qualifications

• Previous sales experience desirable; Internet sales preferred.
• Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
• Must be self-motivated and detail oriented.
• Ability to work well in a team-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Responds timely to all new and pre-owned inquiry emails, calls, and chats; secures appointments.
• Provides ongoing customer service and builds credibility with customers.
• Develops relationships via email, phone, and chat; gathers data on inquiries.
• Follows up on emails with calls per company guidelines.
• Schedules customer appointments with the designated sales person and confirms reminders.
• Maintains product knowledge and promotes dealership services.
• Willing to become certified in multiple car lines and attend training.
• Attends sales meetings and training as scheduled.

Primary Function:

Under the direction and supervision of the Internet Sales Manager, this position is responsible for handling all aspects of Internet sales. Performs all duties within the objectives, standards, and policies of Willis Automotive.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responds timely to all incoming new and pre-owned inquiry emails, calls and chat message promptly proving correct information to prospective buyer, gathering data and requesting appointments.
• Provides ongoing customer service.
• Develops an immediate and credible relationship with customers via email, telephone and chat; secures the appropriate information on customer regarding the inquiry.
• Performs all customer email follow-ups timely with a follow up phone call, with persistence, and within the guidelines set by the company.
• Schedules customer appointments with designated sales person; provides follow-up to confirm and remind customer of appointment.
• Responsible for product knowledge and selling the dealership and services.
• Must be willing to become certified in multiple car lines and attend ongoing training.
• Attends sales meetings and training as scheduled and/or requested.
• Performs any other related duties as assigned.
