Job summary

Amherst Automotive, Inc. DBA Premier Toyota of Amherst seeks an Internet & Acquisition Manager to lead digital sales and vehicle acquisition efforts. You will maximize online lead conversion, drive showroom traffic, and source pre-owned inventory through our CRM.

The ideal candidate has strong automotive CRM experience (CDK/eLead), understands digital marketing, and can negotiate purchases from the public while collaborating with Sales Managers to align inventory with market demand.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Automotive Sales Manager experience.
• Minimum 2 years of automotive retail experience with Internet Sales, BDC Management or Vehicle Acquisition.
• Proficiency in CDK/eLead CRM and standard valuation tools; MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Inventory Acquisition: identify, engage, and negotiate with guests in the CRM to purchase pre-owned inventory; manage appraisal pipeline from digital valuation to inspection and close.
• Process & Accountability: implement standardized digital sales workflows and meet KPIs for appointment set, show, and closing rates.
• Digital Merchandising: ensure website photos, pricing, specials, and descriptions are optimized for conversion on desktop and mobile.
• Market Analysis: perform weekly competitive mystery shopping to benchmark lead handling times, pricing strategies, and acquisition offers.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: work with New and Used Vehicle Sales Managers to align strategies with inventory gaps and market demand.

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:

• We are seeking a high-energy, results-driven Internet & Acquisition Manager to lead our digital sales and vehicle acquisition strategies. In this dual-focused role, you will be responsible for maximizing online lead conversion, driving showroom traffic, working service conversions, and proactively sourcing pre-owned vehicle inventory through our CRM.

  The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of automotive CRM systems, digital marketing, and the process of evaluating, negotiating, and purchasing vehicles directly from the public.

Key Responsibilities

• Inventory Acquisition: Actively identify, engage, and negotiate with service guests and prior guests in our CRM to purchase high-quality pre-owned inventory. Manage the appraisal pipeline from digital valuation to physical inspection and acquisition close.
• Process & Accountability: Implement standardized digital sales workflows. Be accountable for strict key performance indicators (KPIs), including appointment set rates, show rates, and closing percentages.
• Digital Merchandising: Regularly inspect desktop and mobile website layouts for accuracy, checking that vehicle photos, pricing, specials, and descriptions are optimized for conversion.
• Market Analysis: Performance weekly mystery shopping of competitors to benchmark lead handling times, pricing strategies, and acquisition offers.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner directly with the New and Used Vehicle Sales Managers to align acquisition strategies with current inventory gaps and market demand.

Qualifications

• Management Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Automotive Sales Manager experience is strictly required.
• Industry Experience: Minimum of 2 years of automotive retail experience, with a proven track record in Internet Sales , BDC Management, or Vehicle Acquisition.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in automotive CRM software (specifically CDK/eLead) and standard inventory valuation tools (vAuto, KBB ) is highly preferred. Strong competence in Microsoft Office Suite.

Communication:

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build immediate rapport with online clients and private sellers.

Lead Management & Conversion:

Oversee the daily operations of incoming internet leads, ensuring 100% compliance with response time and quality playbooks. Monitor communication across phone, email, text, and chat.
