Job summary

Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota seeks an Assistant Director of International Student Life to support international and global nomad students as they transition to campus and engage in campus life.

The role develops programs, advises on housing, visas, taxes, health and banking, and collaborates with student organizations to foster intercultural connections while ensuring SEVP compliance. This is a full-time position with occasional evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with international students or marginalized populations.
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required for SEVIS work.
• Experience supervising student staff or workers.
• Proven event planning and activities management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to diversity and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise student employees (International Peer Leaders).
• Develop and manage cultural and social programs for international and domestic students.
• Help implement International Student Orientation and International Fest.
• Collaborate with student organizations and campus offices to foster global citizenship.
• Assess program effectiveness and adapt to student needs.
• Provide advising on housing, transportation, taxes, health, banking, and related matters.
