Job summary

Carleton College seeks an Assistant Director of International Student Life to support international and domestic students and coordinate programs. You will supervise student staff and design intercultural activities that foster engagement and belonging on campus.

This full-time role includes advising on housing, taxes, and regulatory matters, coordinating orientation, and working with diverse student groups to build global citizens. Salary starts around $59,800–$61,800.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 2 years of related experience working with international students and/or marginalized populations.
• U.S. Citizenship and/or Permanent Residency to work in SEVIS.
• Experience supervising student workers and/or professional staff.
• Demonstrated ability in event planning and activities management from start to finish.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under frequent deadlines; strong written and verbal communication.
• Nurture diversity and foster an inclusive environment for all backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising student employees and International Peer Leaders.
• Develop and manage cultural and social programs for international and domestic students.
• Create and implement International Student Orientation and International Fest.
• Collaborate with student organizations and offices to promote global citizenship.
• Advise on housing, transportation, taxes, insurance, health, and SEVIS compliance.
• Maintain ISL website and social media; support grant reporting for scholars.
