Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth in Chicago, IL is seeking a Temporary Internal Registry Registered Nurse (RN) for the ICU on the Day Shift. This 12-week assignment (Full-Time, .9) offers a $60.00 per hour flat rate, with the possibility of extension based on staffing needs.

The RN will provide direct patient care in the ICU, applying the nursing process and coordinating with physicians on changes in patient condition, while ensuring patient privacy and adherence to standards of care.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
• CCRN Certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the ICU.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care.

Assignment Details:

The assignment is expected to last 12 weeks; however, staffing needs will be evaluated on an ongoing basis and may be adjusted based on operational requirements.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the ICU. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. They communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

Pay Transparency

Saint Mary of Nazareth offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $60.00. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
