Job summary

City of New York's DEP BEDC in Queens seeks two Assistant Chemical Engineers to support WWCP capital projects, CSO facilities, and WRRF upgrades, focusing on state-of-good-repair work and safety compliance.

Under supervision, you will assist in contract development, design documentation, field investigations, and coordination with bureaus and stakeholders, with emphasis on EH&S and meeting schedule and budget goals.

Qualifications

• The candidate has robust knowledge of wastewater treatment systems and equipment.
• Understanding of codes, standards and design guidelines for wastewater facilities.
• Ability to read and understand engineering reports and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and track contract documents and scope.
• Support design document development and field investigations.
• Coordinate with agency bureaus and stakeholders to ensure project delivery.
• Adhere to EH&S regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor budget, schedule, and contract metrics and manage risk.
