Job summary

Avera Brookings Clinic seeks a Medical Doctor to join a multidisciplinary team delivering direct medical evaluation, diagnoses, procedures, and patient care within a defined service area. The role emphasizes collaboration, education, and high-quality clinical practice on-site in Brookings, SD.

Responsibilities include diagnosing, treating, and educating patients, performing procedures, and maintaining precise records while adhering to safety and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Required Education: Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy with state medical license, board certification or board eligibility upon hire.
• US DEA license required, Federal DEA registration as applicable for practice.
• Upon hire, licensed and qualified to practice medicine in the service state and meet board requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients according to approved protocols and standards.
• Provides medical services and health education to patients and families.
• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed.
• Interprets diagnostic information and formulates an appropriate care plan.
• Maintains patient records with accurate information.
• Promotes patient safety and participates in care environment improvements.
• Engages with the care team for consultations and referrals as needed.

Education

Medical Doctor - Board of Medicine Licensed and board certified or board eligible

Doctor of Osteopathy - Board of Medicine Licensed and board certified or board eligible and board certified or board eligible

Federal Drug Enforcement Admin - US DEA license
