Job summary

Ascension St. Vincent Jennings in North Vernon, IN is seeking a hospitalist to lead patient care across outpatient and inpatient settings. You will join a team of 4 physicians and 4 APPs in a collaborative, mission-driven environment serving Jennings County.

The role offers a Board-certified/board-eligible physician with MD/DO credentials, ALS preferred, and a commitment to serving a largely Medicare/Medicaid population. Open to new graduates with mentorship.

Qualifications

• MD/DO license credentialed with Indiana Medical Licensing Board.
• Advanced Life Support preferred.
• Education: MD or DO required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the patient panel as a hospitalist to ensure continuity of care for the community.
• Collaborate with 4 physicians and 4 APPs in a supportive team environment.
• Mentor APPs within the practice.
• Balance outpatient clinic duties with inpatient rounding.
• participate in 1:4 weekend hospitalist rotation with on-site eval before 10 am.
• Support mission to serve an underserved, high Medicare/Medicaid population.

• - Lead with Impact: Drive clinical excellence by assuming the patient panel of a respected, retiring physician, ensuring continuity of care for the Jennings County community.


• - Collaborative Care: Join an established team of 4 physicians and 4 Advanced Practice Providers in a supportive, \"all-hands-on-deck\" environment.


• - Mentorship: Enhance team capabilities by serving as a mentor to APPs within the practice.


• - Balanced Practice: Experience a mixed care setting with a standard M-F clinic schedule and minimal rounding requirements.


• - Call Structure: 1:4 weekend hospitalist rotation at a Critical Access Hospital; on-call requires one onsite evaluation before 10 am, then phone availability for the remainder of the shift.


• - Optimized Inpatient Flow: During your 1 in 4 weekend shift, benefit from a recently implemented APP hospitalist program that has significantly reduced physician hospital shift volume.


• - Diverse Patient Base: Provide comprehensive care to a patient population ranging from young adults (mid-20s) to geriatrics.

About the Facility

Ascension St. Vincent Jennings is a Critical Access Hospital located in North Vernon, Indiana. The facility features 18 licensed beds and 4 swing beds , providing essential inpatient and outpatient surgical, diagnostic, and emergency services to the local community. As a Critical Access site, it serves as a vital healthcare hub for Jennings County with no ICU or pediatric inpatient requirements.

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• - Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.


• - Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
