Ascension St. Vincent Jennings in North Vernon, IN, seeks a Board Certified/Board Eligible physician to lead outpatient and inpatient services. You will assume a patient panel from a retiring physician, ensuring continuity of care for Jennings County.

Join a team of four physicians and four APPs in a supportive environment, mentoring APPs and balancing clinic duties with inpatient rounds at a Critical Access Hospital.

Qualifications

• MD/DO credentialed from Indiana Medical Licensing Board prior to hire.
• Advanced Life Support (AHA/ARC) preferred.
• Board certification or eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Lead with impact by assuming patient panel of retiring physician to ensure continuity of care.
• Join a team of 4 physicians and 4 APPs in a collaborative environment.
• Mentor APPs to enhance team capabilities.
• Balance outpatient clinic duties with inpatient rounding in a mixed setting.
• Participate in 1:4 weekend hospitalist rotation with on-site evaluation before 10 am.
• Support a high Medicare/Medicaid population at a Critical Access Hospital.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Lead with Impact: Drive clinical excellence by assuming the patient panel of a respected, retiring physician, ensuring continuity of care for the Jennings County community.
• Collaborative Care: Join an established team of 4 physicians and 4 Advanced Practice Providers in a supportive, "all-hands-on-deck" environment.
• Mentorship: Enhance team capabilities by serving as a mentor to APPs within the practice.
• Balanced Practice: Experience a mixed care setting with a standard M-F clinic schedule and minimal rounding requirements.
• Call Structure: 1:4 weekend hospitalist rotation at a Critical Access Hospital; on-call requires one onsite evaluation before 10 am, then phone availability for the remainder of the shift.
• Optimized Inpatient Flow: During your 1 in 4 weekend shift, benefit from a recently implemented APP hospitalist program that has significantly reduced physician hospital shift volume.
• Diverse Patient Base: Provide comprehensive care to a patient population ranging from young adults (mid-20s) to geriatrics.

About The Facility

Ascension St. Vincent Jennings is a Critical Access Hospital located in North Vernon, Indiana. The facility features 18 licensed beds and 4 swing beds, providing essential inpatient and outpatient surgical, diagnostic, and emergency services to the local community. As a Critical Access site, it serves as a vital healthcare hub for Jennings County with no ICU or pediatric inpatient requirements.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
