Job summary

MedVet is a fast-growing Emergency and Specialty provider seeking an Internal Medicine LVT in Vancouver, WA. The role supports internists and focuses on patient care, client communication, and collaboration with the clinical team.

Responsibilities include anesthesia induction/monitoring, ultrasound/radiology setup, endoscopy assistance, and client education. Licensing and prior animal-health experience are required; relief with license transfer is provided.

Qualifications

• State Licensed RVT in good standing and able to transfer license.
• Prior veterinary experience required, emergency experience preferred.
• Strong calculations for drugs, CRI, and unit conversions.

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc).
• Induce, monitor and recover patients from anesthesia
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
• Patient discharge and client education

We are looking for: Internal Medicine LVT

Shift: Wednesday - Saturday 8am - 6pm

The Internal Medicine team is constantly working with our internists to provide information to our clients regarding patient care, updates and treatments. This department focuses on relationship building as patient care is longer in duration. If you want to combine your love of animals and clients, this is the department for you!

What you’ll do:

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc).
• Induce, monitor and recover patients from anesthesia
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
• Patient discharge and client education

Who you are:

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license required
• MedVet provides license transfer assistance
• Prior veterinary experience required, previous emergency experience desired
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Compensation:

This position has an initial hiring range of $24.00 to $40.00 per hour based on skillset and experience.

We support our caregivers with lucrative shift differentials:

• Hours worked between 8pm and 11:59pm = base pay + $2/hour
• Hours worked between 12am to 7:59am = base pay + $3/hour
• Hours worked on Weekends (day or night) = base pay +$1/hour + any applicable differential
