MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets in Mountain View, CA seeks an Internal Medicine Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced specialty team. You will collaborate with internists to provide clients with updates and treatment information, emphasizing patient care and client communication.

Responsibilities include setting up CRIs, performing veterinary calculations, inducing and monitoring anesthesia, preparing ultrasound/radiology, assisting with endoscopy, and discharging

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinary technician with state registration.
• Ability to perform medical math and anesthesia calculations.
• Experience in internal medicine or anesthesia preferred.

Internal Medicine Credentialed Veterinary Technician

The Internal Medicine team is constantly working with our internists to provide information to our clients regarding patient care, updates and treatments. This is one department that focuses on relationship building as patient care is longer in duration. If you want to combine your love of animals and clients, this is the department for you!

What you’ll do:

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc).
• Induce, monitor and recover patients from anesthesia.
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
• Patient discharge and client education.

Who you are:

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license required.
• Prior veterinary experience required, previous internal medicine or anesthesia experience desired.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc).
• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation:

This position has an initial hiring range of $30.25 to $44.00 per hour based on skillset and experience.
