Job summary

MedVet in Norwalk, Connecticut is seeking an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician to join our clinical team. The role involves advanced medical treatments and close collaboration with our internists to ensure high-quality care for patients.

The successful candidate will have prior veterinary experience and excellent communication skills. The schedule is Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. MedVet offers comprehensive benefits, including health, vision, and dental coverage.

Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician

Proposed Schedule: Monday–Thursday 8 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

The Internal Medicine team constantly works with our internists to provide information to clients regarding patient care, updates and treatments. This department focuses on relationship building as patient care is longer in duration. If you want to combine your love of animals and clients, this is the department for you!

What you’ll do

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculate all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
• Induce, monitor and recover patients from anesthesia.
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
• Handle patient discharge and client education.

Who you are

• State‑registered Veterinary Technician license preferred.
• Prior veterinary experience required; prior internal medicine or anesthesia experience desired.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.).
• Flexible with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
