Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Nashville, TN is seeking a knowledgeable Veterinary Technician for our Internal Medicine department. You will bridge internists and clients, manage histories, care instructions, lab results, and updates, and assist with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, radiology, and prescription fulfillment.

Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills are required. As an IM Veterinary Technician, you will set up CRI, perform medical math, and educate clients on treatments.

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician.
• Experience with anesthesia and phlebotomy required.
• Familiarity with endoscopy, ultrasound, X-ray and lab sample handling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced calculations (mcg/mg, %/mg).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
• Discharge IM patients with basic client education such as insulin injections, SQ fluids, and feeding tube demonstrations.
• Additional duties as assigned.
