Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Richmond, VA is seeking a knowledgeable Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced Internal Medicine department. The role involves coordinating with internists, discussing patient histories, lab results, and care instructions, and assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, radiology, and phlebotomy.

Candidates must have strong anesthesia skills and the ability to explain treatment plans to clients.

Qualifications

• Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.
• Experience with endoscopic procedures and ultrasound preferred.
• Ability to interpret lab results and communicate with clients.
• Comfort with client interactions via phone, email, and in person.

Responsibilities

• Set up CRI and calculate medical dosages.
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
• Assist with endoscopic procedures and ultrasound.
• Take X-rays and collect lab samples.
• Discharge IM patients with client education.
