Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Richmond, VA seeks a knowledgeable Veterinary Technician for its fast-paced Internal Medicine department. You will liaise between internists and clients regarding histories, care instructions, lab results, and patient updates, and assist with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, x-rays, and sample collection.

Responsibilities also include dispensing medications and providing client education.

Qualifications

• Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.
• Experience with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures.
• Familiar with CRI calculations and medical math.

Responsibilities

• Liaise between internists and clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, and updates.
• Handle client contact via phone, email, and in person.
• Assist with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, filling prescriptions, taking X-rays, and obtaining lab samples.
• Discharge IM patients with basic client education.
• Maintain equipment and assist with procedures as assigned.
• Adhere to hospital protocols and safety procedures.
