Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Katy, TX is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced Internal Medicine department.

As an IM Veterinary Technician, you will liaise between our internists and clients, handling histories, care instructions, lab results, and updates, while assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures and taking radiographs. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills are required.

Qualifications

• Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.
• Experience with anesthesia monitoring is preferred.
• Ability to assist with endoscopy and ultrasound procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced dosages (mcg/mg, %/mg).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
• Discharge IM patients with basic client education (e.g., insulin, SQ fluids).
• Additional duties as assigned.
